the anxiety is almost heart-wrenching. counting down the days with my kids until we get to go see grandparents and cousins is a great way to keep kids excited and looking forward to a good time. i absolutely love spending time with family and friends so you could imagine the upset when gabe grounded me today from my drive down to portland. sunny skies and clear weather are the calm before the storm, though. tonight the kitsap peninsula (surprise, surprise) is expected to get somewhere around 18" of snow. umm....huh? okay, so maybe it was a range that actually said 8-18" of snow and my dramatic side is rearing its ugly face, but still--18"? on the kitsap peninsula? seattle is only slated to get 4-8". what is going on here?
things to look forward to:
1. my fantasy of getting snowed in and not being able to go anywhere might actually come true
2. more snow is [almost] always a good thing
3. snow makes everything beautiful
4. power outages
5. being really cold
6. making hot cocoa on the stove--i better go get some milk
7. the family sleeping downstairs in front of the fireplace
8. sitting on the coldest toilet seat ever after hours of no heat
9. quality family time with no distractions
10. are ya kiddin? it's almost christmas!
