Joe's first maye-riding lesson

it's nice when you have friends that will teach your kids things that you can't. um, like riding horses. we are not horse peeps at all and what 7 year old girl can live without horses? not maye. so our friends mike, tina and ryan so graciously agreed to teach maye every tuesday in the hopes that it will spark ryan's lost interest in riding. mission: accomplished. one lesson with maye and ryan was back in the saddle again. anyway, all-in-all, maye looked pretty good up there. she did a great job walking joe. she was pretty nervous to try a trot and was hesitant despite my offer to get her on video (big surprise there, usually that girl loves being on video). so after a few more walks around the round pen, maye says: "okay mom, get your camera ready, i'm gonna trot." i dang near dropped my camera trying to get it out so fast, but here's the video:

hence the name "joe's first maye-riding lesson"

by the end of the lesson maye was sitting up straight and moving with joe a little better, but of course i didn't get that on video! why when it's funnier to see little maye lookin like a jockey gettin tossed around by joe? it was so dang cute.

Wow, how fun. She looks like a natural. Isn't it nice to know people with horses that our kids can ride without us having to take care of them ourselves? Bronsen just went riding on Saturday and loved it too. All the kids are getting so big. It sounds like Brennan is doing really well, that's awesome.
